Kidney Cancer

Kidney Cancer

The kidneys are a pair of organs that help filter the blood and eliminate waste from the body. Cancer occurs when there is an abnormal overgrowth of cells in the kidneys that replace normal cells. Many of these are incidentally found without symptoms. Some patients may experience blood in urine, pain in the flanks or abdomen, weight loss, or other non specific symptoms.

In many cases, these cancers are treatable and curable. Treatment options usually include surveillance, surgery, ablation, or systemic therapy. Dr. Uhr has many years of training and experience in this field and offers treatment for kidney cancers including minimally invasive robotic surgery if necessary
